Roombas are some of the best robot vacuums on the market, but they span a wide range of prices and features. Which Roomba is right for you? We've tested them all to help you decide.

I’ve been PCMag’s home entertainment expert for over 10 years, covering both TVs and everything you might want to connect to them. I’ve reviewed more than a thousand different consumer electronics products including headphones, speakers, TVs, and every major game system and VR headset of the last decade. I’m an ISF-certified TV calibrator and a THX-certified home theater professional, and I’m here to help you understand 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and even 8K (and to reassure you that you don’t need to worry about 8K at all for at least a few more years).

Roomba was one of the first big names in the robot vacuum space, but it hasn't just rested on its laurels for the last 20 years as the industry matured. These days, the company offers a robust lineup of autonomous vacuums and other home-cleaning devices across a wide range of prices and capabilities.

Below are the best Roombas (and a Braava robot mop) we've reviewed that you can purchase today. Some of the models offer only basic features, but others boast smart navigation and even empty their dust bins automatically.

While pricey, iRobot's Roomba j7+ robot vacuum has smarts to spare, with a guarantee to avoid pet waste and a self-emptying base that means you rarely have to lift a finger.

The iRobot Roomba j7+ is pricey, but it's worth the money if you have a pet. This model features automatic pet waste avoidance, so you don't have to worry about running amok though an animal accident. It can also intelligently suggest zones to avoid and automatically empties its dust bin at its base once it finishes cleaning.

This is the best Roomba for pet owners, and not just because it can pick up pet hair. The pet waste avoidance feature is extremely useful because the last thing you want to do is wash and scrub your robot vacuum and floor after cat vomit (or worse) gets pushed all over the house.

The Roomba 675 is iRobot's least expensive robot vacuum with Wi-Fi connectivity, giving you app control, scheduling, and voice support in addition to excellent cleaning capabilities.

On the other end of the price scale, the Roomba 675 is one of the cheapest iRobot vacuums available. This doesn't mean it's a slouch, though. It offers features other budget-friendly robot vacuums lack, such as automatic adjustment for different floor types, dirt detection, and app and voice control.

If you're on a strict budget, the Roomba 675 is a good pick. It works very well, but it doesn't have some of the more advanced features of iRobot's higher-end (and much pricier) Roombas.

The iRobot Braava Jet m6 is a powerful, pricey robot that sweeps and mops your floors until they shine.

All the other Roombas on this list are built for vacuuming, not washing hard floors. For that, you need to look to iRobot's sibling Braava line of smart mops. For its part, the Braava Jet m6 robot mop can both sweep and mop hardwood, tile, and other non-carpet floors. It can't vacuum, but it's effective at getting your hard floors clean and shiny.

If you hate dealing with a mop and bucket (or even one of those wet-pad Swiffers), the Braava Jet m6 should be on your radar. It cleans, sweeps, and scrubs many hard floor types in a way that robot vacuums simply can't. You still have to put some of your own elbow grease into cleaning tough stains, but this device can save you time and sanity in the long run.

iRobot's Roomba s9+ is expensive, but its intelligent navigation, super-powerful suction, and ability to empty itself out make it the best robot vacuum we've tested.

The Roomba s9+ is iRobot's most expensive robot vacuum. The payoff for that price is its power: The s9+ has 40 times the suction power of 600-series Roombas and can suck things up that even the J7+ can't. It also has plenty of advanced smart navigation features and can automatically empty itself.

If you have deep pockets and want to keep your floors as clean as possible, the Roomba s9+ is your best bet. It's powerful, smart, and can clean up nearly any dry spill.

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is the company's most affordable robot vacuum that can empty its own dustbin for truly hands-free cleaning.

Self-emptying robot vacuums are more expensive than ones you have to empty yourself, but the convenience is worth it. The Roomba i3+ EVO is iRobot's most affordable auto-emptying robot, and although it certainly isn't cheap, it's much more affordable than the j7+ and the s9+. It lacks some of their smart navigation features, but you can still direct it to clean specific rooms and control it with your voice or an app.

If you don't want expose yourself to dust to maintain your Roomba, this is the most affordable model with the automatic bin-emptying feature.
